whiny transmission

i have a 1994 1\2 ton one wheel drive truck,automatic chevy that is and i
have a whining sound when in gear and moving , also it hisitates when put in
gear before it ingages , how long? and whats wrong ?,

I'd say you needed at least a second wheel on the truck.
