Post subject: 4 wheel drive working or not? Archived from groups: alt>ford>trucks (more info?)
Well I got the transmission fixed. $1,800 later. New question concerning
the Expedition. It has a selector switch for the 4 wheel drive.If I turn
the selector from all wheel drive to 4 hi the indicator light does not
come on(not for 4 lo as well) Does this mean that 4 wheel drive isn't
working? I suppose I could jack it up and see if all four wheels turn(or
at least one of the front ones)

It sounds like the Transmission shop may have forgotten to reconnect the electrical connection to the transfer case. This is located on the left (drivers side) near the top of the transfer case.

Towing Focus Group Test Drive - Just returned from towing 10k# with a Dodge, Chevy and Ford diesel, 250/2500. I own a 2005 F-250 but after driving all three ... one right after the other .... I'm more convinced that Ford has the best tow vehicle hands down. Mike
1996 F350 gas guage not working - I just bought a 96 f350 and the gas guage on the front tank is intermittent. Just wondering if there are any known issues. Thought it might be bad ground.
