Why no turbochargers?

I'm curious as to why I never see turbochargers hooked up to flatties. Not
enough energy in the exhaust? Seems to me that any boost would help a
flathead breath better.

BTW I've got 5 '48-'52 flathead engines in various states of assembly
(including one french block!) stashed in my garage I bought for a canceled
project. Any ideas as to what I should do with them? Is it worth my time and
$$$ to get them all running and try to sell?

I have seen the odd one for sale on ebay. The ones I've seen where
available off the shelf in the 50's, but they are rare now, and I've seen
them go for around 3k.

You have a french block? Post a note if you ever decide to sell..
