Both cars go on??

effectively that makes 3 cars (the 2 no shows and the legitimate round 2
car) scheduled for the same run in round 2????

Is that correct or did I misunderstand you?

Garry,
I should say a bye run. You have 2 no shows or 2 bye runs in round 1 against
each other. In round 2 you have a single no show or bye run. The bye runs or
no shows means they are out of the race from the ladder that is set up for
race day. So bye or no show means it is a single that means they are not
there and do not advance.I hope this helps explain the question. This also
takes place if there is not 16 cars for the race.

Thanks for clarifying it and I understand what you are saying. Thanks.

However what I am asking is what happens if, in round one you have 2 no
shows scheduled to race together. Obviously neither shows so neither wins?

So the winners spot in the next round (round 2) would also be a no show.

Who is credited with that position out of the 2 cars that did not show in
round 1?

As I understand it, there would be points to be earned here if you were to
progress to round 2, so who would be put down as the car competing in round
2 or would they not have any car listed?

Sorry if the question sounds dumb but I was just trying to work it out.

The bye wins and moves to the next round.

As for points, both no shows get first round lose points, thats assuming
NHRA still allocate lose points if you no show the round same with lose
money. I know in Aus unless you front the round you dont get the money,
but you still get the points.

But in Aus they still have alternates.

round and after that the 1 that races gets the points.
