Hey all. New BMW owner here. My iDrive has frozen twice in the last two
months during a navigation input while driving. The car is a '07 650i
coupe. My question: Is there a soft-boot or restart for the iDrive system
that you can do while driving? When it freezes it locks up the radio/CD,
nav, bluetooth... everything. The only way I've got it to reset is to park
and shut off the car for 10 minutes or more.

Good idea, but I'll have to wait until 10pm. Microsoft vaporware support is
located in Sri Lanka. :^)

After carefully reading your suggestions I'm torn between hysterical
laughter and running away while screaming.

Your suggestions make three hours in the BMW service dept. look reasonable.

I think you might get more enjoyment if you just set the car on fire.

So why are you so cynical - try it and if it don't work on the 6 then it is I
said but it does work on the 7 and that is what I was told and actually saw the
"mechanic" write the NUMBERS and add them up and press the knob and all the
bells and whistles glowed on the dash speedo and rev counter.
