Hello,
I would appreciate it if you can help me with the following.
I'm trying to change both sun visors on my 1990 Q45. The visors have
lights and come with cables that has to be routed under the big plastic
piece on the ceiling. My question is how do you dis-assemble the big
plastic piece? Where are the screws or snap features that are holding
it in place?

Thanks for your time.
Ray

I don't know. You really wouldn't have to take it apart, though, if you
don't mind splicing. If you remove the small plastic piece that keeps the
visor screwed in, you can snip the wire from the visor you are removing
(leave a bit of slack if it may be reused.) Then the metal piece that goes
into the visor itself will slide right off, so if that's the problem, that's
what needs to be replaced. But I don't think you can buy just that part. If
you take the new visor, snip the wires an inch or two past the end of the
bracket, solder the wires to the ones on the car and use heat shrink tubing,
it will be as solid as if you took everything apart.

If the problem is with the wires themselves and not with the visor, then
ignore what I wrote. On the other hand, even if you are not sure if that's
the problem, you wouldn't lose much. You can always desolder, put the rest
of the new wire in, and then solder that to the part in the visor. But you'd
have to figure out how to get the plastic piece off some other way.
