Are you surprised - its made by scousers !!

Not that I'm saying they steal, but I heard there was a load of Mk 3
Cortinas driving around Liverpool with leaping cats on the bonnet

Unfortunately the rumor is false. Both the Land Rover Freelander replacement
and the X-Type replacement will be built at Halewood and on the same
platform.

This is another wonderful, brainless Ford plan that's likely to ensure BOTH
models are unsucessful, a Land Rover on a car platform, and a sports sedan
on a truck platform. Now, Ford management could do proper, separate
platforms for each model and build them at Solihul and Castle Brom
respectively. This would improve efficiency, lower costs, utilize excess
capacity at both plants, etc., etc. while ensuring the individual brands
aren;t compromised. But NO! In order to save that Hell-hole in Liverpool
they'll bugger both brands like tied up sheep in order to dodge the
inevitable political issues.

Here's a good solution...since neither model sells worth a damn, why not
drop 'em both & shutter that dump!??
