I'm in the process of restoring a 4-passenger 1935 Auburn boat tail
speedster kitcar. It was (poorly) factory assembled by Classic Roadsters
in 1987 and basically neglected for the past 9 years.

It has a front and rear clip from a '73 Impala; Chevy 350/350. Picture at

That's probably the one built by Rocky Mountain Coachworks, who also created
the plans. I'm building bodies from their plans. They're at

No problem, I get people confusing me for them quite often. They designed
and sell the plans, and I build the bodies for people who want to jump start
the project of a fully scratch built vehicle.

Would this be the same Classic Roadsters in North Dakota, which went in and
out of business faster than the change in seasons?

Boy, either there's a huge delay in my reply getting posted or I'm going
crazy.... I'll try again:

Is this the same Classic Roadsters from North Dakota which has gone in and
out of business multiple times, changed ownership, and done plenty of other
things to give kit car manufacturers a bad name?

Post subject: Hummer Kits - WAS - Re: Does this group still exist [Login to view extended thread Info.]
Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

I love hummer kits and have been looking for something in Aust for some
time - I am seriously looking at ur kit now!

The reason I want one is that I am a Magician and Illusionist and having one
would be the BEST promo vehicle and great for make appear/vanish in a show
but the origonals over here cost around $150,000 second hand and to get one
new and imported they usually cost an extra $30,000 to $50,000 on top of
that!

I have head of some old kits that fit onto a Nissan Patrol but they are just
too small and short - they look like hummers without the steroids! Razz

Thanks for the site - its bookmarked for research!

Cheers, Richard

For more info on building or buying an H1 style kit in Australia, check out
www.h1forum.com and look for messages by a guy names "Bigbird". He's from
your neck of the woods and has researched quite a bit as to what it'll take.
From what I understand, you've got some major-league regulations to deal
with!

It looks like every other Auburn speedster door I've seen.
