Does anyone here have any new info on the 05 Avalon? Any new pics or
anything? I'm waiting for them to come out so that I can trade in my
03 Sienna for one. I shouldn't have bought the Sienna 18 months ago,
should have bought an Avalon then. I still have my 96 Avalon and love
it.

The new Avalon looks a lot like a Prius. There was a link to a pic here a
few weeks ago and if you go to <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.google.com" target="_blank">www.google.com</a> and visit the group page and
search this group you should be able to find the link.

According to the text, it gets more power. Doesn't really need it. My 2001
rattlebox Avalon flies.

I agree. My '98 has plenty of power and I am a fan of that 3.0L engine
and tranny's
smooth and quiet operation. "Rattlebox"??? Don't burst my Avalon
bubble.
The only thing I hear rattling once in a while on my '98 is the steering
wheel tilt
mechanism, that seems to have a little play in it when at its most
often-used setting.
Over the right kind of bumps, sometimes it rattles slightly.

The 05 will get a 3.5L, 270+hp probably to compete with the maxima and
TL. Hey Art, what's your impressions of the Chry 300C styling? Is it a
dead-copy of a Bentley or what? I'm suprised they went with the old
man's car look design.....

I find the 300C exterior pretty ugly. I like the wagon version from Dodge
(Magnum) much more. I've test drove them both and they are very nice cars
but visibility suffers because of the small windows. They have been selling
like hotcakes though I have to wonder if it will die down like the
PTCruiser. When you build a wierd looking car, there is only a limited
market. The interiors on both cars is first rate.

If you can live without the 8 cylinder the prices are incredible. Gets up
there if you buy the 8. They stopped giving them out to the rental fleets.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, just look at Echo, Prius
and the Scion models for verification.

What makes you think any manufacture 'gives' cars to
rental car companies? The fleet discount averages only around
$500, and nearly all manufactures offer a fleet discount rate on
certain vehicles. Chrysler does offer
a fleet discount of $400 on the 300 6 cy models

Why try to live without the V8? The EPA figure is
17/25, as good as some manufactures larger V6 engines

Ok Mike if you cannot understand the obvious...... Chrysler is no longer
making the 300 available to rental fleets because they are too busy filling
retail orders. Do you understand that?
