If the timing is correct and the fuel octane is right, then pinging
may imply excessively high combustion temperatures. That could be
caused by a cooling system blockage, spark plugs of incorrect heat
range or possibly a blocked EGR system. How do the plugs look? If
one or more look blistered from excessive heat, then combustion
temperature is the likely cause. Good luck. Al
