well the fuel pump didn't quit, the guy at the garage said it's going
bad, I been having trouble for a while.. every morning I go out start my
truck & I have to pump the gas for about a minute it sounds like it's
gonna die..like it's not getting gas, then it runs ok... & before this
started I never had trouble with my ac

You have a 15 year old vehicle and you're wondering
why the ac is giving up the ghost?

Your saying that after you get it started it runs fine the rest of the
time? How about after you shut it off, if you try starting it
immediately does it start without pumping?

If the answer is yes it is more likely that the pressure regulator is
going bad not the pump. It is leaking down and not holding pressure in
the system. Easy way to check it would be to connect a fuel pressure
gauge to the fuel line port and see what the pressure does.

Also the fuel pump relay under the hood may be bad as well. Do you hear
the pump turn on when you turn the key ON (not start). You should hear
it whine for a few seconds and then shut off. If not the relay is
probably bad.

As for the A/C what does it do/not do?
