I am at an impass with this problem. Clutch slave has failed. Before
giving up I blead the system and had my daughter push on the clutch
while I stuffed a HT wire into the pressure plate. Not enough
clearance. Not sure where to get the Saab spring. I tried a pry to
compress the pressure plate and tried stuffing the HT wire more with
no success. Then I tried the suggestion to use a longer 8 mm bolt and
a nut that is threaded behind the pressure plate. This provided a
little more clearance but the HT, now trashed because of my trying to
press it in before. The problem is I bought some 4 gage copper ground
wire form the hardware store. It just wont fit. Where do I go from
here?

I found anything short of the real SAAB tool didn't work on my wife's 85
900 T. I used three bolts to compress the thing and put in the regular
tool. Maybe I can find the pictures I took and send them to you.
