Liberals are growing increasingly nervous – and some just flat-out
angry – that President-elect Barack Obama seems to be stiffing them on
Cabinet jobs and policy choices.

Obama has reversed pledges to immediately repeal tax cuts for the
wealthy and take on Big Oil. He’s hedged his call for a quick drawdown
in Iraq. And he’s stocking his White House with anything but stalwarts
of the left.

Now some are shedding a reluctance to puncture the liberal euphoria at
being rid of President George W. Bush to say, in effect, that the new
boss looks like the old boss.

I told you two months ago that Washington homogenizes politicians, so your
voting decision should be based on intelligence and speaking ability. This
way, as least you're not nauseated when you have to listen to them.

You didn't listen.

Or maybe some people will say whatever it takes to get the nomination and
then to get elected, even if they intend to govern differently. Obama is a
very smart guy. He know all along what he was doing.

You are correct. All the candidates did that. When a candidate comes along
and does NOT tell people what they want to hear, he/she will be the best
candidate we've ever seen, and will be immediately scorned & rejected. This
candidate should begin by saying "My spiritual life is my business. Do not
ask about it again. Next question?"

Obama got the nomination by pummeling Hilary Clinton on her vote to
authorize the invasion of Iraq, and George Bush on his conduct of the war.
Who would have thought that he would name Hilary Secretary of State and
leave Bush's Secretary of Defense in office (the only Secretary of Defense
in history to remain from one administration to another, even when the same
party held office).

Without Obama's stance on Iraq, he was just the Junior first-term Senator
from Illinois and would have had no chance to even get the nomination.

His skills at the psychological chess game will serve him well in dealing
with whack-jobs like marshmallowsaintjohnny from Iran.

I think the only change Obama envoked was raising the level of
political illusions.

To each his own. I was constantly nauseated by your favorite president's
inability to correctly match plural and singular words as well as a kid in
7th grade.

There was a report that Nobama was going to ask Monica to come back to work
as a White House intern. When Monica heard that, they said her jaw
dropped. LOL

I hadn't heard that one. I have even more respect for him now that
he's not afraid to profess his faith.
