Post subject: car shut off in traffic

i have an 08 elantra. i was sitting in traffic (2nd day in a row) and was idling for about 20 minutes. it was the usual speed up a little, hit brake, speed up a little, etc....
well i was sitting there and when i put my foot on the gas to go she died on me. lights still on, radio on, no check engine light. she turned right back on and hasn't happened since but now i'm worried it might. is it something that needs to be checked on or was it a one time thing (i had gotten a new tank of gas that day)? let me know what ya think. thanks!

No, it's the Obama syndrome. Pay attention - he said the 'idiot lights'
came on!!!!! The lights were installed by ACORN.

No where does it say "idiot lights" in fact the OP says there was "NO
check engine light" but the "lights" were on.

That's what I would think too .... may need some clarification if the
"idiot" lights came on but the check engine did not. JCES - which lights
were on??? You also said second day in a row - did this (the car
quitting) happen more than once or did you mean you were stuck in
traffic two days in a row?

Does the fuel pump recall apply to your car?
If yes, has it been done? If not, I'm guessing your fuel pump is at
issue.
