Post subject: it seems that kit cars should be build on something more rel
Archived from groups: alt>autos>kitcars (more info?)

Dear all:

I have been looking on the web for ready built kit cars that are
lamborghini or Ferraris. However, the problem is that most of these
are based on the Fiero. I have come across a few fieros in my day.
People who own them know that they are not reliable. Heck. Look
aroudn you. You don't see fieros running on the street anymore.

So, are there any Kit cars that are build on more reliable
platforms like the Toyota MR2 or the Honda Del Sol?

Look at this: http://www.kitcars.com/Classifieds/AdDetails.asp?classified_id=3472
it is a great looking ferrari lookalike, but it is a fiero. Too bad.
I wouldnt want to pay $25k for a fiero. I would pay that much for a
MRS conversion to a Lambo or a Ferrari, but would not touch a fiero.

sincerley. Moser

So swap out the Fiero 4 or 6 cylinder --- another GM v6 or the 32valve
Northstar V8 is an easy swap for big HP/performance improvement or get one
of the Skoda kit cars.

For $25k you can buy a real genuine Ferrari 308.
There is a company in the UK that makes a kit of the P4. Absolutely
stunning.

Pity the builder ruined the whole effect by using a donor with an automatic
gearbox. D'oh!!

Try <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.carbontech.com.au/" target="_blank">http://www.carbontech.com.au/</a> They're an Australian company who build
Lambo Countach's from scratch. No donor required. Kits can be bought in
various configurations. I guess they will export if you're foreign. They use
genuine Lambo parts for some items.

Good luck.
