does anybody have any experiance with the avalanch? I was concidering buying
one but haven't heard much about any problems or quirks.

The only thing I know about the avalanche, is that it is the ugliest GM car/truck
in the history of the world.

I realize it has a Pontiac emblem but it's still made by GM - the Aztek has to be the ugliest

I have a 2004 Avalanche and I love it. The vehicle has an 8.1 Vortec engine with incredible towing capacity.
If you don’t need the towing capacity there are smaller engines available (hence better gas mileage), I think it’s the 5.2 Vortec. In fact I have been told that the new Vortec will run off of 4 cylinders when 8 aren’t required.
The ride is incredible although the bed is small.
When I have something big to carry I just put it into a trailer.
So far the only thing I dislike about it is the number of computers but that is something you cannot get away form today.
