Toyota Supra will give around 1000bhp on a stock bottom end.

90-94 Talon , eclipse or laser turbo with the 4g63 turbo engine... they are
virtually indestructible... Supras are expensive and hard to find in good
shape

1000 WHP on a stock bottom end is pretty easy w/ a 2JZ motor.

This is a stock bottom end Supra
http://www.speedtoys.com/~daveh/vids/9.71short.wmv, at the time of the run
he was having ignition and transmission problems. He has since upgraded
both the transmission and ignition system. He should be darn close to
running 8's soon on a car that he drives to the track.

I forgot what magazine it was (I think it was Sport Compact) but it
showed an Supra on the cover with 980 hp's with a stock bottom. I
don't think there's a dispute that it's the best engine to boost.
They question is what budget does the person have. An alternative for
a lot of people is the MR2. The limit is a lot lower at 400hp (I
believe) but it's still high enough to blow away most of the
competition.

a 2.5 impreza are very impressive if boosted. My buddy has a 03 WRX which is a smaller engine and runs 13.5 with bad clutch and tires. This was also at Britsol (Thunder Valley). All he has done is a boost controller, 3 inch cat back and a 4 inch downpipe. He is running 18 psi and has beatin Evos and Sti's by at least 4 cars. He only has about $1200 into it and is stomping a 40 thousand dollar car.
