Folks,
This is my first post and probably this has come up before. I apologize if
it has but I tried to look through all the posts and could not find anything
on this. I have a Cougar XR7 1994. It has an analog odometer and trip.
They both stopped working but the Speedometer, which is a dial type, is
working. Can someone tell me or know what caused this. I understand that
these days a cable isn't present like the older car and most of the time
it's an Electrical signal that gets converted from a sensor. I am very good
with cars and have worked on them all my life but this one has got me
baffled. I haven't looked at the Speedo gears in the back of the odometer
yet because I'm hoping someone here can steer me in the right direction so I
can tackle the problem immediately. I really don't have much time to spend
and leave the car apart because my sister uses it also. Can someone please
help.
Thanks in Advance >> Stay informed about: Cougar XR7 1994 |

BTW, picture yourself being a black citizen to try and appreciate this.
Picture yourself as the monitored group.
Shortly after starting out, they were pulled over by police for a search.
Not one, but two squad cars came to do the search.
Because they crossed lanes while going through an intersection.
If you are white, when was the last time two squad cars searched your
vehicle inch-by-inch because you crossed lanes while passing through
an intersection? Never happened to me.
The police were recorded saying a container they found "probably had drugs"
in it. It was a make-up container. [All you little people are probably guilty]
When ABC asked the police chief later why they were pulled over,
he said for crossing lanes while going through an intersection.
ABC's cameras then showed cars doing that constantly at the same intersection.
They said they counted hundreds the same night.
The police chief then tacitly admitted they
were pulling over black people on purpose.

[ Yes, I am aware of the cocaine/crack sentencing discrimination. ]
You monitor any group real close, you'll get many arrests.
The implications of heavy monitoring are serious.

The speedo is electronic, and the odometers mechanical. You need a new
cable.

Fuck yourself long and hard you asshole. You fucking sad little piece

extremism elsewhere and shove that new cable up your fucking ass.

Wow...wierd. I have a 94 XR7, odometer stopped, speedo works fine.
Have not looked into it yet at all. Can't be vehicle speed sensor, because
that would set a code, I believe, and there would be an impact on engine
operation. Everything else in mine is fine.
