I'm looking for a 86 Toyota MR2 wiring harness for my lights. There's
a ground somewhere in my wiring system and I can't find it. First my
dash lights went, then my headlights. My friend and I fixed the
headlights just by direct connecting them to a toggle switch, then
straight to the battery. Now my back lights (brake lights work, just
back lights) are out. I'm looking to put in a brand new wiring harness
to solve the problem. Does anyone have one or know of one to purchase?
Please e-mail if you can.

we've tried a new switch. We've taken out the dash and all the gauges
(or gadges sp?) to look at the wiring and everything is nice and neat
until it disappears into the frame between the dash and the front
trunk. In the front trunk everything seems perfect too except for the
buzzing in the fuses and relays which did not go away when I put new
ones in. I've been frustrated with this problem for a while now and
pretty much tried everything I can think of to resolve it. This is why
I think there is a ground in the wiring somewhere. The new wiring
harness is my last option bc it's such a PITA. But I'm out of other
options. Sad Thanks for the site address though! I will definately
check it out.

Aren't the tail lights on a different circuit to the headlights?

I think I'd suspect the switch. Changing the whole harness has got to
be a real PITA.

You may do better on one of the mailing lists, such as the one at mr2.com

I know this is a old post, but did you get your light situation fixed?
