Does anybody know where the front windscreen intermittent relay is on a 97
306 XSi?

Haynes manual and a good search on the web has given me no clues as yet.

have you looked inside the fuse box. thats the place they put things

Yep, there's about 6 different relays in there. Sorry forgot to say. The issues is I don't know what relay does what as there's no description on any of them and no mention of them in my Haynes manual.
