Anyone have any tips on how to install
them correctly? The glass guy hasn't
worked on one before. Bottom first?
Top first? Help!

As I recall, set the bottom in place and work your way upward, with
someone on the outside putting a bit of pressure as needed.

If it's your car, do it yourself. Piece of cake using the "rope" method
and make sure that all trim is installed into the rubber seal BEFORE
installing the assembly into the vehicle.

A shop manual shows exactly what to do.

Pay the $95 to $130 and have a pro do it. Back in the 80's I had some gys
try and they screwed up the stainless. No need to go int specifics but I was
accused of shrinking the window opening.

When I needed the new windshield installed I called an auto glass company.
They had nevr done a Studebaker before but I explaned about the stainless
trim etc. They worked for about two hours and got the window in without even
maring much less scratching or denting the stainless. Then they came back a
week later to check their work and adjust everything before they cemented
the rubber sealent in. I think I paid them $125 and then gae the guy $20 for
coffee for himself and his crew. BTW, they did it all in my driveway.

Always lubricant the seal real good. I use the old style GOJO hand cleaner
without any grit. This stuff slicks it up plenty and is easy to clean off.
