94' Cutlass Ciera WITH 47,000 MILES has a very bad vibration at highway
cruise speeds ie: 70 to 75 and starts noticably at about 45. The following
is what I've tried so far. New tires and wheels (no help) new CV joints (no
help) had the struts and shocks checked (no help) had all the bushings
checked tie rod ends. The only thing that hasn't been replaced is the
steering rack itself. Has anyone out there been in this dilemma. Please
Help!

Hello,
This may or may not apply to your car, but I once had a similar
vibration problem with a 1986 Mercury Sable, where I also checked those
same things with no help. The problem, in my case, turned out to be a
computer problem. My car had an automatic transmission with overdrive
and at highway speeds the car was causing the vibration by switching
into and out of overdrive rapidly. The problem got resolved when the
local dealer finally called a Ford hotline and discovered it was a known
problem and Ford had a fix for it.

Yes. But I cannot remember if it was the upper or the lower. It was only
one, but I changed both. It was a while back on a friends car. It was so
bad that the front end rattled when he hit bumps at lower speeds.
