Does the trip computer in a Lincoln calculate MPG over all the miles
since the last reset, or is it limited to some max number of the most
recent miles. For instance, if you went from the showroom to 50,000
miles without ever resetting it, would you be seeing the average for the
entire 50,000 or just the most recent couple of thousand? Does anyone
know of a link that explains the logic used by the computer?

The one in my 02 Town Car calculates since the last reset. I've gone as long as
a full year between resets, & it seemed accurate over that period.
