I recently got a free 3.8 seriesII with a blower. I'm thinking of
transplanting it into my 94 Pontiac Transport that now has a series I
3.8. The counter guy at the salvage yard says I need to upgrade to a
4T60E- HD to handle the torque. Does anybody know if I can do a swap
with engine and tranny, or will it not bolt up to the frame? I'm also
not sure if the half shafts are the same.

No expert, but having wanted to do the same sort of swap with my Reatta, I
know it is not the
easiest of all swaps. I think you have to swap the computers, etc along
with the engine.

There should be no problem in mounting the engine. The series I and II are
not exactly the same
but are close enough to make such a swap mechanically easy.

You will just have to check out the halfshafts.
