Hi All
My check engine light just came On ( 96 xj6) which made me change the
oil and take it to a shop for a comp dia. The mech. found that i need
a thermostat ( a quote of $250.00 ) and that might help with the
light. Is the thermostat housing connected to the upper hose?

More than likely it is. I've not seen this later type of engine as
mine is 1990. But the layout has got to be similar.
Its probably 2 bolts and 30mins to change.

Just checked on the web and it uses the same top hose, thermostat
housing and thermostat.

Piece of cake to do, don't forget to top up with antifreeze. Garages
are there to rip you off!
If I were you i'd get registered at jaguar lovers web site, its great
for tech info and will save you money.
