Faithful 91 Sub surges at idle. About 192K on engine, no other problems
other than surging idle. Engine is rock steady above 900 rpm. Passed
rarified HOU TX emissions 30 days ago.
Codes indicated TPS and EGR valve so replaced tehm and plugs, plug wires,
cap and rotor, timing chain and gears, and coolant temperature sensor. Have
full power and better mpg now than when new (16+ mpg at 65 to 75) but it
looks like the surge problem is in the electronic fuel injection. Any ideas?
TIA! >> Stay informed about: Surging 350 at idle |

Check for vacuum leaks, especially between the throttle body and
intake manifold. >> Stay informed about: Surging 350 at idle |

2003 Silverado won't idle - No service engine light but wants to die. Okay once up to speed but wants to idle at 500 or so and then die. Could this be a problem with the idle air control? If so, how hard to service? Looks like the IAC is right on the front of the throttle.. |
