Does anyone know if Subaru has a hybrid or other ultra-mileage vehicle
in the works?

They have had an electric plug-in (R1e) in Japan for a while now and I
THINK they have a plug-in E test mule running around New York? (I read
something about it recently)

I think the diesel is available in Australia and maybe just recently Europe.

Other way round Carl. It's on sale in Europe and apparently they're
getting orders for all they can build. Latest in Oz (dealer mgr I spoke to
last week) is that we're no closer to a firm date than we were in February!
Early to mid next year seems to be the best hope at present. Cheers

Well, recently, since March this year Smile
But, up to now there is no automatic transmission. Subaru Diesel
drivers will have to shift gears manually.
Perhaps this is the reason for being late in the U.S.?
