The steering wheel on my '41 is badly cracked with wide open spaces in it. Is
there anybody who restores steering wheels?
Later,
Chris

Chris....

I've done several using PC-7 two part epoxy......you have to use a very
small burr with a Dremel or small die grinder and undercut the places you
need to fill........then you fill the cracks......sand smooth, prime and
putty if necessary, and paint with lacquer or acrylic enamel with a couple
of clear coats.....

There's a very good book which I got through a British Car restoration
supplier, The Roadster Factory in Armagh, PA, if I recall......tells you how
to do it like a pro......I think you could do it......or you can get it
here:

Steering Wheel Restoration Handbook , from antique to milestone, by Jack
Turpin, 1981/1994. c/o Jack Turpin 34 Mountain Meadows Road, Cleveland,
Georgia 30528

If you don't want to attempt it yourself, go here::

Chris, there are people who do it but very very
expensive. Look in Hemming's

Better yet do it yourself, makes a nice winter project, I did my 39
banjo style myself use a two part epoxy to fill with, file and sand,
then give it a nice coat of paint.

I used the 2 part that comes in a single dispenser, Don't remember
the name but most hardware auto and home stores carry it.

I'll send you a couple of pixs
