Well I fixed the clunking noise in the intermediate shaft on my 2004
Silverado. I removed the shaft, very easy to do, and lubed it with
Lubriplate white grease. Same as I did on my 2001 Bonneville after the GM
re-lube kit only lasted 14 months.

The Bonneville is still quiet, hope the truck stays quiet.

AFAIK, the "clunk" in our trucks will come and go.

Just out of curiosity - how long did it take to lube?

About 45 minutes. I could do it faster now that I know for sure what I'm
doing.

Very cool.

I'm waiting for it. I've got an '06 Avalanche with around 45K miles and
figure I'll hear the "clunk" eventually.
