We have a 1999 Kia Sportage, since Feb 2003. The fuel efficiency has gone
down, and we wanted to change the spark plugs. The way it looks the plugs
are somewhere in the middle of the engine? Is this going to require a
partial disassembly?

You need to pull the plenum. It will take about a day for the first time. I
can do it in my sleep now. (2-3 hours.) You can reuse the gasket if your
carfull. Please be carfull because the gasket is $25 from KIA. Use anti
sieze for those soft aluminium castings. Don't overtighten bolts or you
will have a real problem.
SPARK PLUGS KIA 2.0 - this is how you do it on a 2002 with 2.0 make sure you use a no seize compound on the threadsService and Repair Removal 1.. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2.. Remove air intake assembly. 3.. Remove accelerator cable bracket. 4.. Remove...
spark plugs - i need to know where on the motor of a 2000 KIA Sportage 4 cylinder 2.0 where the spark plugs are at. I need to change them.
TO CHANGE A SPARK PLUG - THE PLUGS ARE LOCATED RIGHT BEHIND THE MUFFLER BEARING . THE MUFFLER BEARING IS LOCATED RIGHT NEXT TO THE KANOOTER VALVE WHICH HOOKS UP TO THE CARBERATOUR BELT AND THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU CAN GET TO THAT IS JACK UP THE AUTO UP AND TAKE A TORCH AND MELT....
