After the Indy chapter meeting yesterday, I stopped by to see Tom at
Methodist Hospital, (it's NOT my favorite place, most of you know why!)
Anyway, sitting there talking to Tom, and who walks in? Ted & MaryAnn
Harbit! They were also at the Indy meeting. We were all just b/sing with
Tom, and MaryAnn asked Tom where his VCR was. Tom wasn't sure, soooo MaryAnn
went to find out! It seems that the hospital has but 1 VCR and that is for
"educational" purposes, MaryAnn had an idea that Tom needed a small TV with
a VCR in it. I'm going to try to find one with maybe both a VCR and a DVD
in it, and get it up to Tom.
If anybody wants to send a couple bucks that's fine if not, maybe a movie
or video of some Stude meets or something to help
Tom pass the day along would be even better. I'll let you know if I can find
one with both.
Tom's spirits seemed to be good, he was sitting up a bit better. He was
pretty much bored as he isn't the "Oprah" type!
He REALLY enjoys the calls and cards too! So keep the cards rolling in for
him, I don't have the exact address, I'm sure that Ted or Bob Palma can post
it.

Forget it...I just read this and he'll have one the next time Mom and Dad (Ted
and Mary Ann) visit. I have a small one that isn't as needed by us as it is by
him.
It's nice to lurk and see all the kind posts and replies about your
friendships.
Out of kindness, I'll not offer my opinions on the political posts <vbg>

Is it a VCR or a DVD player?

The portable one I have is a VCR. If a DVD/TV is needed, I also have a 15" one
that is still in the box. It's a little more cumbersome, but he's welcome to
it until next summer.

Good for you! I keep trying to follow Ted's example of deamenor on the NG,
but I keep falling off of the wagon. Maybe when I grow up....

That would be a leap for me. I'd have to work my way up to your
demeanor first and my wagon balance is worse than yours too. <g>

Some demeanor is better than no demeanor. We'll just have to keep working
on it. <G>

While I was in INDY yesterday, I found Snurdley yesterday after a half hour
search. (That place could use some signs.)
He was not as chipper as previous. I think he is just tired of being isolated.
We talked a bit -- he sure is proud of his sons.
I gave him a couple of books. One was by Dave Barry -- Tom said that he was
also a Dave Barry fan. I thought some of Dave's humor might help.
Tom's cell phone number is (317)501-6171 that number should stay the same as
they move him around.
In case his battery is low, his present land line is (317)931-5246.

I just spoke to him on his cell, seemed a bit low, but glad for the
call. I promised him we'd update him on Reedsville and that we are
keeping him in our thoughts.
