I own a '00 TDI Jetta and is starting to experience problems with the old
girl . Recently when I hit a larger than normal hole or bump I here a large
bang from the rear . I took off the rear shocks and they seem ok but when I
looked at the rear axle bushings (the large rubber mounts connecting the
axle to the body) 'they look bad . They are cracked and can easily moved .
Are they easily replaced or does the dealer have to do this? Can they just
be hammer out after the axle has been lowered? Also does anyone know how
much in Cdn they are ? The old thing has 92000 km .....

They are a real pain to replace and require special tools.
