I am looking at purchasing a 1998 Q45t, and while I have owned my
share of Toyota, Honda and a Nissan Maxima, I am not familiar that
much with the cost to maintain a 1998 Q45t.

Is this car on the expensive side to maintain, and what are some
things to look for or consider in my purchase decision? Does all
service have to be performed at the dealer?

A Q45 has the potential for expensive maintenance. Routine maintenance is
not the problem. That should be pretty much the same as most Nissan cars of
the era. It's replacing items that may fail from age or mileage. That not to
say this is an unreliable car, just that if something breaks, it could prove
very expensive to fix. And no, while I may choose to have all service done
by the Infiniti dealer, you do not. The Q45 is just a Nissan with a V-8. It
can be serviced well by most competent auto service centers.

Bye.
