Ferrari 308.

basically 80s'-era Ferrari's...like the 308 series.
it's relatively cheap to obtain now - and it's arguably one of the purest
sportscars and Ferraris of all-time.

pre-80s is too old...post 80s has too much technology to kill the driving
expereience.

Indeed, thank goodness it didn't turn out like those Moon-dials. Great
parts shelf in a race shop.

easy fluffy. my 308s "born on date" proudly reads December 1978.

Like fuel injection. You gotta have carbs. QV owners don't know the
joy of living with Mr. Weber and as a result have too much time on their
hands and fill it with excessive use of tyre black.

When you talk about a pure Ferrari, at least put up a picture of true Euro
308QV, looks so much better than what you have now, the heavy bumper US car
with 4x4 ride height.

Sadly we Americans are blessed with the DOT. We can't be trusted not to
knock into things while driving at 5 mph.

I've got them on my car which is thankfully black and hides the "knobs".

Early 70s, surely.

Huh? Ever seen a Lotus?

They're the first FIAT Ferraris.

Yeah, that five valve motor in the 355s is a real boat anchor.

If your going to limit your experience to the 1980 308 you're going to
be sourly disappointed.

Carbs or QV is the way to go.

Well, as a group we can't. I'm not sure the insurance companies'
response, mandating heavier harder to fix bumpers, was the way to go.

The lines as well though.

A nice wax job and the california sunshine takes care of that "problem".
Also, the car's much easier to find in a 308 lineup amongst all the
"rossa corsa" 3x8s
