I'm looking for somewhere that can replace the seals (which I have) in a
power steering ram from a 1963 Austin.

I'm in Lincolnshire, but can travel.

I've tried the VDP club and local hydraulic firms, but this needs a couple
of special tools which they don;t have.

HELP!!!

Power steering leaks are a known weakness in the Triumph range. You
could try giving Rimmers a ring (01522 568000) to see if they have a
firm that does overhauls for them. (Rimmers are in Bracebridge Heath
LN4 which isn't far from you). I imagine that any firm with the right
gear ought to be able to handle Austin as well as Triumph.

I *think* Triumph only ever fitted power steering racks. The '63 Austin
would be a box, rather than rack, and probably of US manufacture. I'd try
a US specialist for a new part. 'S' Series Bentleys used a ram system -
so that might be another route to try.
