I am not a Hillary fan, but she did NOT call for an assassination.

She said that Bill did not wrap the nomination until June '92 in California,
and that Bobby Kennedy did not have the nomination wrapped up when he was
assassinated in June '68. Both of these candidates stayed in the race until
June, while she is being encouraged to drop out. Her reason to stay is that
these candidates stayed until June, so she should remain too.

The problem with her reasoning is that in '68 and '92, California held 58
delegates, and was a very large late-season prize. California held its
primary in February this year, there are no big prizes left to score.
Hillary has no chance of winning the delegate count from the remaining
primaries, this was not the case in '68 when Bobby Kennedy was here, or in
'92 when Hubby was in town.

She did not suggest that Obama will get bumped off, but her rationale for
staying in the race is disengenuous if she is going to base it on Kennedy in
'68 or Hubby in '92.

This whole brouhaha about Hillary Clinton is such a tempest in a teapot
that it hardly is newsworthy.   Olbermann's comments on this statement
of hers was so over the top and egregious that one would have thought
she was calling for Obama's assassination.   The woman was simply
calling attention to the timeline, in saying that her husband didn't
clinch the nomination until California voted in 1992 and that Kennedy
had not sewed it up at the time of his death.   If she was speaking in
code, recommending that a nutjob kill her opponent, it was so veiled as
to become meaningless. (BTW, I'm not a Hillary supporter, but she was
pilloried for no reason.)

and this was not just interpreted this way by one person as you so
conviently imply...

Please ...she's desperate and she knows she's done. 51% of the
population is female and there are 4 times as many whites as blacks and
she STILL can't get the job done. Give it up hillary. It's ANOTHER job

What Mrs. Clinton said is just morally wrong. I am no fan of either
her or Obama but to draw a parallel to an assasination is very
low-class. I can draw only one of two conclusions: 1) Either she meant
what she said and is sending a message to Obama or someone else or 2)
She made a big mistake, in which case that's even more reason she not
be considered for the nomination.

She's wearing her desperation on her sleeve, which is too bad. I had a lot
more respect for her before this mudfest.

On another level, though, I can't help but feel sorry for her. She's worked
for so long toward this goal, and is watching it slip away to a younger,
less-seasoned, probably less deserving upstart.

That's gotta hurt.
