My wife is looking at getting one of these. Are the diesels better then the
unlead versions? What are the pros and cons of both? Never having owned a
diesel I wouldn't know.

Hi Greg I hope by now that you are the happy owner of the diesel you asked about. The only experience I've had is with a jetta that a friend owns and it is awesome. I used to own a '95 325i and one day he stopped by my shop and threw me the keys to his car and told me to "drive it like I stole it". I was blown away at how much fun it was. Granted it was a stick and he had done about 1,000 dollars of mods to it but even stock they are a blast. If everybody drove the diesel before they bought the gas motors I don't think they would make the same decisions! Anyway as you can tell I love the VW diesels. If you want to talk to my friend and find out what all he did and maybe talk to him about changing out the same on your car then send me an email at dixon.TakeThisOut@cyberhotline.com I will be glad to shoot the bull with you. Oh I forgot this car still gets 45 miles to the gallon driven at 75:)
