A turn of events that is the proverbial double-edged sword. Speaking
strictly for myself, I'm not sorry to see it fall through. In my
opinion, Drag Racing is already too affected by outside sources whose
main focus isn't the spirit, the purity, or the integrity of the sport.

I think this is one of those ideas that in about a year from now everyone
will go, "what were we thinking? Dodged a bullet there!"

I had almost forgotten about the whole thing; the company I work for was
recently taken over in a multi-billion dollar deal that was announced and
completed in between the announcement of this NHRA deal and its collapse...

Same here, except that the company that was looking to acquire ours was
nixed by the EU (but OK'd by the SEC and DOJ). In the end, it was a better
deal for us. I work for an OEM of CO2 lasers that ships worldwide.
Hopefully, this will work out for NHRA.
