I just replaced it. It's a $6 part. Remember that if this was the
problem, it will take a few tankfuls for the mileage to change. The ECU
has to re-learn the fuel curves.

One my wifes 98 Altima, same KA24DE engine but updated electronically,
so it may be slightly different, anyhow there 2 coolant temp sensors.
One sesnor sends the temp to your gage. It's not that one.

The possibly defective one which affect mileage sends the temp to your
ECU. Replace that one.

Where is it located? OK, pop the hood, it's attached to the block(of
course) behind and slightly below the left side of the cam cover.
Passenger side, so to speak, assuming a left hand drive vehicle. Best
thing to do is buy the part at your parts store and look for the piece
that look like it in that location.

Guys,
Here i'm again and i just wanted to share something that finally i found why i was getting a low mileage.You guys might think i'm stupid Smile
but well i didn't know about it.Okay, i was driving with O/D off and just today i came to know that it drops your fuel economy to a pretty good extent. whew!!!
But thank you all guys for giving your suggestions. I did learn a lot.
