Someone posted a part number, I didn't save it (I know, this is the
kind of stuff I'm supposed to be saving and posting) now I need it. I
think maybe it was Jack Vines? Any help?

thanks,

nate

I'm looking for a modern lip type replacement for the original felt
Pitman shaft seal... Saginaw offset = the trade name for the early
integral power steering setup

I don't think that original seals are to be had. I don't know what the
rebuilder uses but in my case, Jeff Rice (who at the time worked for
Chicago Rawhide), supplied me with a seal and one of those thangs you
put on the shaft.. Speedy sleeve I think.

The unit remains out of the car 'cause I could not get a new interior
boot for the column but no I believe that SI has a repop so it may be
going back in.

Does anyone have exact dim's for the shaft and bore? I can tear down my
"extra" box to find out but I won't be able to get to it until Saturday
at the earliest. I did find through a search of the 56J group two
Chicago Rawhide numbers; 11733 which crosses to a National 9487 and a CR
12208 which appears to have no National equivalent. Would like to
double check the dims. with the info on CR's web site as according to my
FLAPS they have no stock in store, and no stock in their warehouse of
the 9487 and it would have to be special ordered, non-refundable, and I
would have to pay shipping charges as well. I guess this is not a
common seal.

thanks,

nate

I am old and slow and a tornado took part of my roof.
So be patient.
