"The panel dimmer switch controls the radio illumination. When the headlamp
switch is in the PARK or the HEAD position, voltage is applied through the
panel dimmer switch and CKT 8 to the following components:
a.. The radio panel lamps
b.. The internal circuitry
When the headlamp switch is in the PARK or the HEAD position, voltage is
applied through CKT 9 to the radio. This condition signals the internal
circuitry to adjust the brightness of the vacuum fluorescent display to a
level determined by the voltage of CKT 8."
