Just a story to tell some of you guys that buy from e-bay vendors.
There is one vendor (HotRodsUSA) that does a lot of business with rod
related stuff. Disc brake conversions being one of them. After reading
their add or auctions on e-bay, I contacted them and spoke with Dean
about doing a front disc conversion for a car I am working on. He ask
me to send him a spindle for checking. I pulled a spindle and sent it.
He then called me and agreed to a price of 1320.00 for a new front
disc set-up with booster, mc and valves. I sent him a check for that
amount and upon receiving it, he called me and said-- I thought you
ordered two sets? I said "no I didn't" and we agreed he would send my
check back with the spindle that day.
Bottom line, he cashed my check (found out when I checked the bank
statement) and has given me every excuse in the book as to why he
hasn't sent my money and spindle back, I am now going to file a small
claims report in order to retrieve my funds.
They promised service and parts and just stole my money without me
getting anything. I have learned my lesson and will deal only with CC
next time.
Hope this helps someone.
Stu

Yes, I said that. I am kicking myself for not using one. But in
over 30 years of working on these
kinds of cars, I have only had this kind of issue come up one other
time --- that one for a lot less money and it also concerned a disc
brake setup! Other than those two, I've never had a problem with a
vendor that we did'nt work out okay.
