Sad I have a 1500 4x4 the year is 2000. removal of heater core is a pain. HELP! have the dash apart and can see were its at but can't seem to get to it? What am I suppose to do?) Does the steering have to be dropped? The dash completely taken out? Thanks for reminding me to put the year. Sometimes I assume. Sorry

The year would help, as '94-'97, '98-'01, and '02+ are all different. You
say you have the dash apart? You need to remove it completely. Then, after
disconnecting the A/C and heater hoses from the engine side of the firewall
(after first recovering the refrigerant charge, and draining the coolant),
you then disconnect the heater box from the passenger side of the firewall,
remove it, and take it apart to get to the heater core.
