| I've had my 03 malibu a year and for the past 6 mos at least the locks haven't been working - I've been locked IN the car twice - no I couldn't even unlock it manually. One of the key fobs doesn't work at all - the other works part of the time. I've changed batteries, didn't work.
The headlights go on and off when they feel like it - they are supposed to be daytime running lights. Now the transmission is leaking and we can't find a place to put the fluid in.
I had the car to the garage last week - the key fobs both worked for them. The mechanic couldn't find any problems, but I swear these things are happening! Any ideas at all?

It's possessed. Schedule a exorcism. Or, watch the move "Christine"
(you'll see what I mean).

From what I have seen in this Newsgroups all the the electrical
troubles seem to emanate from from the ignition switch - replace this
and I am sure all those weird things electrically will be fixed. Its
seems that amongst the defective parts that GM put in this car the
biggest culprit for all electrical problems is the ignition switch
because it controls all the electrical circuits in the car. The switch
innards seems prone to corrosion. >> Stay informed about: Headlights, doorlocks, transmission 03 Malibu |

Can't help you with tranny, too new a car for me. As for the
weird headlights and locks, start by beefing up grounds. Run a heavy
jumper from block to frame, run jumpers from frame to radiator support
and cowl, be sure connections are clean, and tight. DLR cars are too new
for me, a factory wiring diagram will identify the floating grounds in
the light circut.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Headlights, doorlocks, transmission 03 Malibu |
