Post subject: Headlight problem and many others.
Archived from groups: alt>autos>gm>olds-cutlass (more info?)

I have a 1985 Cutlass Supreme with 54,000 original miles, always
garaged or covered and hardly ever driven in the rain.
Yesterday when getting ready to drive to the store and run some
errands, I started the car like I always do and then noticed the
following problems:
NO headlights
NO taillights
NO parking lights
NO license plate illumination light
NO dashlights
NO ashtray light
NO light for the A/C and vent controls
Cig lighter inop
NO display or memory on Radio.
NO buzzer for seatbelts or "Key in Ignition" buzzer.

Basically what I know from my GM shop manual is that all of these
things except 2 have one thing in common: The Headlight switch.
The only two of these items that are not related are the display/memory
for the radio and the Cig lighter. They should be hot at all times,
with or without a key.

Everything else works just fine, these are the only problems right now.
The car starts right up just like it is suppose to, and I suspect a
loose wire or faulty connection.

HELP???

Thank you.

Check the fusible links that run from the starter solenoid to various
circuits on the wiring harness...
