I have a snipe bid based on the value of the wheels to me, and I'll turn
the car for 2 or 3 K less with factory steel wheels if I win it. If
not, I'll offer the high bidder a offer and see what happens. The cars
owner is a old friend I lost track of him and his wheels about 20 years
ago. <g>

Or put < > around the link. Anything past the item number (&rd=1) doesn't
need to be added and usually will fit on one line.

Really ugly wheels, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, eh? <G>

Funny how some things are rare and valuable for understandable reason, and
others are just rare and valuable.

The Item Number is all that's needed, makes a shorter URL.

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4510846062" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4510846062</a>

quoting or bracing it helps too.

I think that they are nice and very '60s looking. They remind me of the heavy
optional wheelcovers that I ordered on my '66 Charger for $70 (over the cost of
the full wheelcovers - a relatively expensive option in '66).
I was thinking of bidding on the Avanti and then selling the wheels off it to
recoup some of the cost. This is the oposite of what John is planning. We
could have worked together on this. I say "could have" because I see that the
car is not emissions legal, so I wouldn't be able to get it past state
inspection. I don't want a car that I can't use.

Unless you are Ca, it is probably just fine since it's so old. Let
me know. I'll give you 2K for the wheels.

No, I am in NY and the emissions equipment, like cat. convertors, has to be on
the car and functional for 1975 and newer. Remember, this is a 1978, not a
Studebaker <G>. Thanks for the wheel offer. It sounds fair to me. Maybe it
will make me look a little harder for a set <G>.

With all the hundreds [thousands?] of custom wheel designs that are
available, why isn't someone re-popping these? Sure would like a set
for my Daytona.

Probably because the demand is too miniscule to tool up for it..
And then ask a Stude type to pop $3k+ for a set of billets... Go ahead...Ask
<g>..
As a machined billet wheel, the style would be there, but the accuracy would
be missing.
You'd forever get picked on about that.
Then check out the cost for casting these, as compared to machining them..
And then they'd probably only be available in 20"
And then they'd show up on riceburners, or ghetto SUV's...
And then no one would want to be seen wearing them...
But then again...
Someone could buy that Avanti and shoot it in the head...
And then put the wheels on their rusty '58 sedan and sell it for $5k...
