Post subject: Group Newbie has 63 Hawk Electrical Questions
Archived from groups: alt>autos>studebaker (more info?)

Greetings, all- Happy to join the group. Recently purchased a '63 GT
Hawk, and it's got some electrical problems. Most of them are sorted
out, but can anyone tell me which wire goes where on the wiper switch?
I carefully recorded them in my PDA when I took it apart, but the PDA
promptly dumped the drawing. Then I found the manual with the correct
drawing, but it doesn't identify the wire colors in the wire list!
There's a white/black which obviously goes on the breaker; a yellow,
red, blue and black. I think the blue and black are the park switch on
the motor, red and yellow make the motor go when connected to 12V.
Also, there are three wires hanging loose under the dash that seem to
go to the tach-They are white, yellow and black, and the loose ends
have screw (horseshoe) terminals. Where would they connect to?
Thanks, I appreciate any help. I'm gonna need all I can get.

If you're talking about the shop manual, a wiring diagram is in the front
part of the manual- references drawing numbers to a color listing.

I have that drawing. The problem is that the wire color code in the
manual table does not apply to the '63 schematic. The wire list has
#38, 39, while the schematic has #38A, 39B, etc.
