Archived from groups: alt>autos>ford (more info?)

the fuel pump is a definate possibility. the next is an internal leak in the fuel system. I believe that has a carbuerator on it. The bowl may be leaking down. It will start ok due to the fuel in the intake, then the bowl gets replentished really quick on startup. are the plugs powdered black? how does it run overll?
