Post subject: Fuel Filter

Hello again everyone, I decided to change my fuel filter after a little over 80,000 miles and am having trouble doing so. I can't get the fuel filter sleeve/holder to open. I can get the attachments off the filter, no trouble their. I am just having trouble removing it from the holder. If their is something to pull on or other to get it to open and I am just missing it, then can you tell me please. Thanks

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

Is it the plastic fuel filter holder bracket thing? Those holders are almost
impossible to open, even if you get it open it will be just as hard to
close. Try sliding the filter out the bottom without opening the holder, if
that does not work then cut the tab off in the middle and just force it open
and then use a tie strap to secure the new filter to the plastic holder.
