My daughter had two Mustangs, both dogs.
They spent more time in the shop than on
the road.

She bought a Honda Civic 14 years ago and
it has yet to break down.

Moral of story, "Why push a Ford when you
can ride in a Honda?"

I can find plenty of people that have bad Hondas and good Fords. I drove a
1992 F150 for 14 years with minimal problems (nothing much for the first 12
years, then an alternator, a fuel pump, and the A/C recharged). My older
Sister has owned two Hondas. The first, a first generation Accord, was not
so great (massive rust was the biggest problem, plus some engine problems,
and generally light weight construction). Her second Honda was a 1997 Civic.
She just got rid of it after 11 years. It was very reliable (only problem
was a couple of mufflers and a set of plug wires) but it was a rolling junk
pile at the end. The paint was faded out, the interior was faded out, it
used about a quart of oil per 1000 miles, and the interior plastic was so
brittle I was scared to touch anything. She replaced it with a Toyota. She
asked me to sell the Civic for her. I drove it to work one day to show it to
an interested party. When I got back home, I told her I did not want to sell
the car because it was in such poor shape. It was HORRID. In my opinion it
belonged in a junk yard. Yet, people showed up right and left to buy it.
Total idiots. My 14 year old F150 was a dream by comparison, yet people were
rushing to buy the Civic and it took me weeks to sell the F150 (for about
the same price as the Civic!).

I had four Ford products and nothing but trouble from each. I had a
1966 Custom sedan, a 1970 Ranch Wagon, a 1977 Granada and a 1986
Mustang.

The Mustang lasted longer than any of the others, but then was not
functional. The '66 and '70 ran for a couple of years and then were a
constant source of headaches.
The '77 Granada was a disaster and no matter how many times it was in
the shop it never ran right.

I had a 1984 Honda and my wife had a 1983 plus a 1996 Honda/ The 1983
ran great until my ex son-in-law totalled it. Our daughter is still
driving the 1996 Honda every day without problems.

I also had a 1991 GMC Sonoma which gave reliable service for over ten
years. I know several people who have owned very reliable Hondas, plus
several who swear they would never own anothe Ford.
